When you buy a new 20GB ipod from the apple store - does it not come with the dock or headphones or anything?!
- rockdog0
no. theres only this nice plastic (top) steel (bottom) box. nothing in there. u have to order a hard-drive, ear-phones, etc... there are even no mp3, which is pretty annoying. but it looks good...

I got my 20GB ipod about 1 month ago from a University bookstore that carries Apple products. It came with usb and firewire cables and charger and earphones. No case - no dock - and no other stuff. Maybe Carty got a special promotion deal from an authorized apple reseller or something that added a case and dock in there? cause as far as the retail versions go, I know the 40gb one is the only one that comes with the dock.

Yeah, 20 Gig'r with headphones and charger + firewire and USB. Software crap and a booklet I didn't read, but wish I would have. I felt like tossin my iPod out on the freeway the 2nd week I had it and it started crappin out on me; freezin up and sh*t. Now it works fine. whatever. it's cool...
- doggy0
Really? It was crappin out? what do you mean? I had no issues whatsoever! Just took a few minutes to get used to the interface thats all.....is your iPod converted to a PC or Mac version?

My iPod is Mac formatted. On the 4th day I had it, I turned it on and it took an unusually long time to start. When the menu screen finally came up, I went to access my playlists and there were no songs on my iPod... so when I got home later that night, I plug my iPod in to download my playlist again. I looked at my iPod playlist after it initialized in iTunes and everything was there again (and I have iTunes set to NOT update playlist automatically). I have no idea what happened. Then about a week later, I was in the gym and about 4 songs into my playlist it started skipping, and I wasn't doing any vigorous activity, I was sitting on a bench doing dumbbell curls. Then it just stopped. So I took it out and looked at it and the whole thing was frozen. I couldn't scroll menus, skip songs or even turn it off. It died out on it's own before I got home that night. Then when I plugged it in and turned it on it was fine. I got online that night and found a bunch of forums about peopel who had problems with their iPods. There's a way to 'reset' your iPod, which I didn't know because I didn't read the instruction book (and still ahve yet to). I haven't had any problems since.
