Grab vs. Export

Okay...
I've got an animation I've made in Flash, trouble is that some of the motion is hidden in nested movie clips for ease of completion. Everything looks okay when I just play it, but when I export it, certain things do not animate.
I've created a 'grabber' in shockwave in the past that will step through the frames and export an image... and can dig that out and alter it to work with this new animation...
But the question is... (finally) Does exporting an image as 24 bit smoothed look better than grabbing an image 'live'? and is publish quality=best the equivalent of export?
Hope that makes sense?

basically you want to grab an image to print it in hi resolution?
if so for my experience the best thing to do is to take a snapshot of the screen.
or take a real picture of the screen if you have an LCD display and a good camera/light setting.

i actually want to grab a collection of frames at 720 * 480... but wondering if exporting is better than a screen grab because it renders it fully... rather than the matrix rendering that it does in flash directly to screen.

I have always use live grabbing, because i found it easyer.. and quality is not bad...
but maybe depends what you need it for..
