I have 8 wireless connections in my building including my own. I was seriously contemplating cancelling my service.

do it.... DO IT.

yeah, stealing wireless is so fun. You can get it just about anywhere in a city these days.
Both networks near me are password protected. Had to buy my service :(

Ric, Cathedral Square park is about 3 blocks from me, the whole park is a free access point, on clear days I can get a really weak signal from the park.
I was riding a bus a few weeks ago with my laptop right through downtown and it was fucking amazing all of the wireless connections that were available.

Start sharing/downloading mp3's by the truck load. See if you can't get the RIAA on them, you know, for fun.

they are supposed to make the entire city of Philadelphia wireless connected for free.
- jox0
Yeah? Bet you wouldn't be so sure when you see Jennifer on 5th floor.
- jox0
um, that was toward phatlee, by the by.

Yeah Dob's, not too many people have wireless in Riverwest. Which leads me to believe people are snatching up mine.
Downtown is cake tho.
- mrdobolina0
man, just give it time, ric.
JazX, St Louis is waiting for Philly to pilot the program and they want to do the same. Probably have alot of cities doing that within the decade.

Philly is trying to compete from the brain drain they are facing.
- mrdobolina0
makes sense, yuri. It's funny because I love Philly, personally.

i'd be amazed if anyone tapped into my wifi point. it's wide open but if any of the mongs in my area can connect to it then they are either not from these parts or they are getting way too much dole money
- tomkat0
ha, I leave my wifi open here, and I think someones using it.. I have a flatrate, so I wont be extracharged..
well, I hope someday it will turm back good on me.
like that karma thing, ya know

I will be seriously amazed if Philly goes through with it, they are all hype here, the city always says something to get the people in their favor, then ride that for a while and then be like "sorry...".
Plus, they say it'll be free or less than local providers, Comcast/Verizon will never let it happen, they both have a monopolies in this city, 10 miles out my parents have a choice of a few providers they want to use for any highspeed connection, here it's only Comcast for cable, and Verizon for DSL. Other companies can tap into the DSL, but Verizon still controls the rates as it's their network.
