did i write boobs? i meant to write 'rates disclosure'
as a freelance developer or a designer do think you should publish your daily/weekly/hourly rates on your web site? i'd like to but nobody else seems to do it.
i know that some people would charge more to corporate clients than they would for smaller clients but your rate is your rate, right?
- jox0
Publishing *anyting* about your clients / hourly rate is really stupid IMO. Would be like begging the competition to win your clients over.
- DutchBoy0
no don't do that.
it's not professional and may bring you in trouble.
- ikbenvanrijn0
i say nay to that question, unless you charge $10 an hour
- toe-knee0
They might think you are too cheap or two expensive and leave your site. Why risk it. Wow them, make them want you then tell em your rate
- letters0
Don’t publish them. It is unprofessional and does not allow you room to be flexible or competitive.
Just don’t.
- mirola0
no i don't mean publishing what you charged a past client, just publishing your own daily rates. some post production houses do it:
- DutchBoy0
yes, there you said it: "post-production"
you are a creative, your conceptual skills are valuable, but you gotta set a rate per project basis.. na meen?
- jox0
It's still stupid. Old clients are gonna bitch about how they had to pay more/less, and new clients are gonna try bargaining.
Unless you're running a flea market, don't.
- mirola0
i'm a programmeri can't design shit.

I'd suggest "going the whole hog" and putting the following up on your site:
"Hourly rates $13.99 And I have an extensive library of reuseable code which I have developed through my work for other clients, if I sue any of this code you don't need to pay me for it either! Your bonus!!"
