I think you gotta try only using black as colour for designing the logotype... That way it gets more simple! Then add colours when your happy with it...
Also I think it too bauhaused, you need to do "the" and "bar & resturant" in a more straight typeface

and isn't it a bit double, the huge text "W-I-N-D-M-I-L-L" with an illustration of a windmill on top of it?
a pure typographic solution would be nice.
- rabattski0
i'm not a fan of the typeface you're using but it really depends on the target audience the bar/restaurant wants. that's key issue #1. personally i would go for a suggestion of a windmill (e.g. just the blades) than a very clear windmill. i mean it already says windmill. i also don't understand why the last l is higher than the l before that. looks more like a bar statistic graphic. then again, it all boils down to the target audience. and ofcourse how that bar/restaurant wants to position itself. all imo ofcoz.

hmmm, i agree with most of the comments... the white outline for the text is clumsy. (the inside part in white instead would be a step in the right direction even though I aint that keen on the bauhaus feel) How about using the two L's at the end in lower case and use them to illustrate the main block of the windmill, then add the little 'blades' in an 'x' shape above it. just something subtle you know...

i like where JoséX is coming from, he knows a windmill, a pink windmill in fact, the same colour as a müller lite yoghurt. i'd be wary of letting some of the comments tarnish your sketch there kid, you see, half these wingers on here don't know about marketing pos and brand strategy, that's my background. 16 years experience, fluent in polish, degree in risk management, salary expectations £20k-30k??? BUT i used to earn £56k, daft eh?

we all love a bit of artistic arrogance.
If the grub's good Im sure the fat family on every corner of the world will go.
*ALL YOU CAN EAT AT THE WINDMILL*
p.s. I dont think 5050 deserves all the stick he's getting and the Fat lady who works downstairs said she likes the logo and would go there for something to eat.
Nice.

Nasty font, I wouldn't eat there. Maybe you could use the sails from the windmill on the letter , there's too much going on right now.
- contra0
hmm, that said letter 'i' but it disappeared.
- carver0
"Nasty font, I wouldn't eat there. " says the kid contra, hahahaha!!!
- josimarX0
yeah, 'sails' that's what I meant, not blades. hey carver, you've taken a bit of a salary drop ay? unlike my good self – I can now afford to splat folk wi' tiramisu.
- fifty500
What would you guys suggest for a typeface for the word "Windmill?" Serif or sans?
- carver0
jossy, have you got any mandatories when it comes to making te perfect tiramisu? me and the wife(she's an ex-polish gymnast and beauty queen) made one on thursday night, we used ladyfingers and peachbrandy, raspberry coullis and chambord. not bad at all. we could swap recipes if you like???
- carver0
i reckon what ever font you use, it should be made out of wood!
- rabattski0
5050: it really depends how that bar/restaurant wants to position itself (e.g. exclusive, expensive, cheap, family, fastfood, etc). who they focus on (families, people with cash, people without cash etc.) how does the place look? location? do you have any info on that?
- Jnr_Madison0
Dire.
- contra0
What Rabbatski said, without that info you're wasting your time.
- rabattski0
wow! ascii boobs! how cool is that! :)
- josimarX0
recipe similar to yours carver my man... 'cept if it's for throwing I add a bit of shite in there, if it's for eating, I leave the shite out. simple.
- stewart0
better than ascii c(|)nts
or (_*_)sses
- fifty500
