probably going to happen. would be nice to be able to shoot digital and upload on the spot to a hard disk with a screen and wipe the card or stick clean.

i'm just saying i'd rather pay 500 bones for a 60 gig hardrive that stores and plays my music and photos, than paying the same for a 1 gig memory stick. sheesh!
- toe-knee0
it already stores picture.

who needs it?
most camaras have a 2" screen nowadays.it's just a way to suck out more cash from the iPod fanatics

Just wondering if there's even a radio in the iPod.

but how do you get them in there without a firewire? i'm guessing the color screen has got to mean some sort of photo transfer feature. who the fuck needs a color screen for just music anyway?
- function820
colour screen means more power drain and they need to coat the thing with something so it doesnt scratch so easily, i mean, whats the point of a hi-res screen when its scratched to hell
its lame that they're releasing it so close to the gen 4's too (if they actually do) because they left just enough time for everyone to buy the current model, and potentially by christmas it will be outdated.

"who the fuck needs a color screen for just music anyway?"
people might want to put a picture of their cat on there.
The Berkin adaptor transfers data from any memory card to the ipod
no the ipod doesnt have radio, funnily enough. Probably cause apple can sell rdio stations to consumers
- toe-knee0
should read "cant sell radio"
- johndiggity0
does the belkin take memory sticks too?
- toe-knee0
yeah
- johndiggity0
that's teh new hot shit then. fuck this new ipod bullshit.

re: memory sticks. probably not, mainly because their application is so limited. Sony is very much like apple in their attempts to keep their stuff proprietary. ex. they added a cf slot to a few of their clie's for wi-fi adaptors (a few years back), the slot was capable of reading any cf cards, with data or wi-fi, but then they crippled it so it could only read sony wi-fi adaptors, nothing else. software hacks were made, but the point is they dont like to share their technology and they force users to upgrade to use their fancy new stuff instead of making it work with all their products. ex. memory stick pro, the reason i ditched my clie and soon my camera, and ultimatly, sony.

isn't this jsut apple gearing up to release a PDA, something Jobs has hinted at being teh one thing he thinks Apple missed out on when they sold all the R&D to Palm...??
- function820
ok i stand corrected about the media reader, but still stand by my other points. ;)
