javascript problem

im using dreamweaver and fireworks to make this site, and i cant seem to figure out why this problem is happening.
notice figure one:
it looks normal. nothing has been clicked yet. all links are rasterized text on the background. im using show-hide layers.
now, when i click the first three links, i get these white squares over my other links and i cant click them. i checked everything out and everything looks the same. here is figure 2:
any help is appreciated.

i dont think there are any styles on there, but i will check to make sure.

no styles, just slices.

you have os x.. use your apache webserver. plop your files in the library>webserver>documents foler.
then turn on your web sharing in your system preferences :)
