Does anyone own, or has anyone used one of iRiver's HD portable audio players? (H110, H120, H140, H320, H340)
Since Apple has a massive monopoly on the portable audio market one would assume its competitors would have to be coming up with 'better' products to compete with them.
My key interest is how's the audio recording (both from the internal and external mic and line in)? I've heard it's really quite good, but I'd like some validation.
Second, how's the interface and menu system. I'm sure it's got nothing on the iPod (same goes for aesthetics) but I'd still like to know how it goes.

I have an iriver ifp not one of the other mentioned models it has mic and line etc. It is brilliant and there is no doubt about it. Both sound quality ease of use. I am well happy with it.

i have the iRiver-120.
i absolutely love it. it requires no dock (like the iPod), has a built-in FM radio, so I can listen to Giants games, it can record audio, and comes with a remote.
It natively transfers over USB + USB 2.0, so there's no need to get a firewire card for your computer.
it also looks like the iPod's evil twin (like the Michael Knight's evil twin, Garth).
The only downside to it, is what to call it. "iRiver" and "MP3 player" is a a mouthful compared to "iPod", so i've been debating back and forth, figured out how to refer to it.

Needs a little more 'POP' to it...
(wow. that totally sounded like a shitty client complaining...)
