yeah thats a good article, its actually a principle I have used for years, I use grids but I certainly dont feel governed by them, I always choose intuition/logic/common sense and an 'artistic eye' when it comes to compsition. Though I love the cleanliness and order in swiss design I have always been irrated by people who stick so rigidly to so called 'rules' and 'formulas', it always seemed a bit anal and unimaginative to me, I could actually name some people I was at college with who would preach these rules to me when I questioned things and experimented, I actually think they were simply jealous of their inability to be able to think and work more inuitively and add some soul.
hmm.. maybe I'm jibbering, been a long day.
Good read though, bring back the articles QBN, dont you see that we have people on board that can write?

great read indeed. but i remember qburt (his NT-nic at the time) already posted it here quite a while ago, i read it then but it's good to see it again.
quite a few spelling errors though.. but then i don't want to spoil it being the grammar nazi, hehe!

actually DB, spelling is not a grammar issue, grammar is rather dealing with the syntax/construction of sentences and paragraphs rather than the details of spelling. Not that I wanted to spoil your point by being a linguistics nazi heheh.
