"yeah no shit" you're thinking.
So I open an old Q4 doc and one of the fonts (eurostile demi oblique) has now just turned into all kinds of special characters..
WTF?!?! how can I get out of this, I am using the same font the was packaged with the artwork, there's nothing wrong with it, just Quark doesn't like it.. grr.

update to the latest Quark 6.1 or 6.01, can't recall anymore. But my printer had the same problem too. I was working in Quark 5, saved it as 4.0. My printer first couldn't open it. And after trying, he got it open, but full with font errors. When I opened it in Quark 4 or 5 I had no problems.
I asked them if they might had to use an update as new software has often conflicts. So they did, problem solved.
Hope this helps you out.

In suitcase X and font reserve I had problems with a document containing Eurostyle versus Futura, Garamond or FF Din.
Eurostyle in combination with some other Font-id's can give problems, but it's really hard to figure out. The best way is trying, trying.

ah ok, I need to find an update maybe.. but actually, the only other font in the document is.. you guessed it: Din..
so maybe thats it?
thx :)

I think the update will do fine. Better is to learn delivering pre-pressready files in PDF with Enfocus Pitstop. I am not an expert in PDF, but I am learning right now. Seems to be more precise and correct than Quark Native files. I have been taught Quark my whole life, but Indesign seems to be a good replacement. Instant PDF, less font conflicts. PDF can be opened by many softwarepackages. I learn everyday. This is a typical, "I learn by making mistakes" kind a experience :).
BTW send you an email.
Good luck and let me know.Cheers.

hey reaction thanks, I just fiddled around trying different versions of fonts and shhutting somedown and there seemed to be a conflict, after turning all fonts off and then just the ones I needed back on and reopening the document.. all is ok.
One of those strange ones.
Thanks!
