osx: my 'services>grab' feature is always greyed out.. why is that?

thanks.. so they basically have a feature built into the finder that works with only text edit.
that is clearly a stroke of genius.

The service menu carries alot of services specific to particular apps (stickies, mail, BBEdit, Fetch, ...etc.) pointless addition to the menu bar- never used it once.

actually i think they only work in coca applications, and not carbon, which is what most osx apps are written in.
