How about the coolest city in the world, NEW ORLEANS. I'm not talking Mardi Gras or Bourbon Street either. I'm talking Voodoo Fest on the 16th & 17th, Halloween in the Spanish Quarter, constantly badass music every day of the week, great weather. This place is a small European NYC in America. Just don't be a friggin tourist and find the local spots.

My Family Vacation - Part 1:
Sorry to the 99% of designers who don't have kids but here's the reality of one who does.
I took the fam to Tokyo Disneyland last weekend. The American transplant in Japan was weird enough (all the characters speak Japanese!) Pretty close carbob copy of the one back home.
It rained the whole day! My six year old sloshed around in soggy sneakers all day without a complaint.
Japanese people are Disney crazy. Walt Disney would be proud.
