so whats a good but cheap inkjet, pref A3+
are epson 1290's the way to go or?? do they do those with bluetooth now?

We're pretty happy with our 1290 here at the office. However the inks can be a bit of a cost (approx. 50 quid a set), especially if you've got clients that like printouts because they don't know how to use email. Not sure about the bluetooth..

£50 a set yeah thats a bit steep, is there any 'fake' options or is that not worth damaging the machine maybe.. inks are such a bend-over routine huh?

Yes they are a bend-over routine and Epson makes sure that you're scared shitless to use anything else.
You might be able to find them online for cheaper, perhaps 40 quid a set but once you're in their hands there is little you can do to extricate yourself as the consumables are all epson based. They are essentially print/crack dealers and they don't seem to sell anything in "bulk" quantities at discounted rates so the shafting is often and severe.

I'd recommend this over the Epson eqvivalent:

And for anyone who will bash my choice in printers, I have 3 words for you: I know karate
* strikes pose....no actually I don't. But it's a pretty damn good printer. 4800*2400dpi, 8 godamn printer catridges and a bit sexier then a box.

A canon eh? looks nice, I'll look into that one too.
on a side note, I will need to be able to print eps that are in quark files and the like, what is the deal with postscript rips for osx?

we've got an epson 2100. |Its been really good, excellent high quality photo images on the Epson premium paper. 7 cartridges, CMYK colour for under 500 squid.
cartridges are expensive but are replaced individually, paper is expensive [90p for A3+ per sheet] but looks great.
We've tried a few "fake" papers but not joy so far. Wouldn't attempt to use fake inks in ours.
The matt paper prints are good too and not so expensive.

Yes indeed. Matte paper is good quality and a cheap alternative.
