You checkin' craigslist, mang?
It's a paradise of jobs...
- Donvitoviti0
Send me your website and resume.
- nospacebar0
How much can you bench?
- dobisf0
Craigslist is the worst thing that ever happened to design. Little story:
Applied for a terrible 10 hr. a week job in berkeley the other day (10 hrs. as in on-site 9-11 Mon-Fri) and get a response back saying she recieved about 200 resumes and I was one of the 20 she narrowed it down to. 200!! Every time I go on that site I feel like a design prostitute, with the job going to the cheapest bidder with the most experience. If only virgins were worth more in this business also.

good luck to you man. the first job is always the hardest to get.

your school doesnt have some kind of placement program at all? a lot of companies take new grads right out of school through placement councelors.
- dobisf0
well...
I graduated from SDSU, had a pretty good job offer in SD, and passed it up to move up to SF with very few contacts. hindsight's always 20/20 right?

You still didn't answer my question....
Also, the Cuban Council is having a housewarming party this weekend. I can't imagine a better place to pimp your skills...

You still didn't answer my question....
How much can I bench? like a couple elephants last i checked. And yea, I might see ya at the cuban council party...wheres it at again???
- nospacebar0
Someone's exaggerating...
- ********0
hehe i doubt you'll find a job at the cuban council housewarming.. what you WILL find is a bunch of insanely good looking people getting drunk and loving each other while shaking their booties (off beat) to some wacky cuban music
so come on down!

Hey, that works for me
- kld0
Is that al student work on your portfolio
- dobisf0
Yea, all, pretty much all old student work. Any thoughts?
- kld0
some nice stuff in there. maybe speed up the transitions, you almost lost me while I was waiting.
As for work in SF, keep trying, I spent two months after school working on my portfolio and haven't really had a break since.
- kpl0
Your portfolio is good, you just need to poke your head out more and quit complaining.
and stop dissing craigslist. I got a job from it even though they got 200 resumes. And I just graduated six months before that. You know what? 160 of the applicants were crap. The 200 number sounds impressive but most of the applicants for a job like this are people who think they're web designers because they did a geocities page when they were a teenie bopper and thought they might as well take that .5% chance of a call back.
If you still need a job, Real Branding is looking to hire an intern (or maybe two, we've got a ton of work) for the creative dept. Send resumes/portfolios to and I'll forward them to the proper authorities.
- kpl0
oh yeah. it's a paid internship. in sf.

hey, just sent you my resume, thanks i really appreciate it.
as for craigslist, the frustration tends to set in after a while. I'm sure we've all been there, im just new to it.
