A guy in my class submitted a first comp. in a poster design assignment that used clip art. It's a graphic design program. He used clip art. What the fuck?!
We all looked at it for a group crit. and didn't really know what to say at first. The teacher asked, "Is that clp art?" to which he replied it was, then that it wasn't, then that it was... Then he got chewed out for the next ten minutes.

True, but I like my shoes more than I like him. He truly does some of the most hideous work I've seen. It drags the overall quality of the class down. We're planning our grad show and will be inviting industry people for the party and, honestly, it could be embarrassing.

I'm not sure. Entrance was granted by interview with the program director, but, to tell you the truth, I fail to see the point. He is a smart guy, an enineer by trade, but he has absolutly no design sensibilities. I am consistantly surprised at the complete and total lack of progression from assignment to assignment. Just when you think he might be making improvements he'll go use the wave distort tool in After Effects on lime green text.
Unfortunately (or perhaps not) I don't have a copy of the poster. He printed it out on 8.5x11 shortly before his critique then crumpled it up afterward, but I'll email you a different little nugget of design gold.
I don't want to post it on the off chance it comes back to bite me in the ass. :\
