I have met the CD of MTVi twice, as well as with VH1.
Never have I enncountered a gmail addy. Perhaps this is an email filter. I would not put it past them.

odd that gmail address. can't imagine that business like this goes over a gmail address, very unprofessional. or maybe there's someone inbetween who has been asked by mtv to create a pool of freelancers. then again mtv has their own mtvncareers.com.

there's nowt wrong with that, after posting a few jobs on here with my work address i was badly spammed.. the spam spiders got me!

if you dont have and gmail address you are a worthless nerd!
like me!

i still think it's very unprofessional. now a 1Gb doesn't make a difference between @hotmail.com or @gmail.com. there are various ways to take care of spam btw.

or maybe theyre afraid of PVNners bothering them to death if they actually knew their name?
when i worked at sony i had people randomly try to call extentions to try and get through to someone. when i worked at 65 media somebody took my name from here and actually called me at my work asking for a job. ?? it was weird. i dont blame them for not releasing their identity. people are weird.

now. it isn't that difficult to figure out the proper e- and snail mail addresses. find phonenumbers etc. etc. so it's not that a gmail address will stop all of that.
i'm talking from the designer's perspective, the one who wants to send in stuff. do you want to send your portfolio with all your contact information to a gmail address while mtv has their own addresses? i won't. i wouldn't trust it.
- shellie0
meh... then dont send your stuff? less competition :)
- rabattski0
aha... so that's the trick ey! :)

Just don't take off the tin-foil hat and you'll be fine.
