I am thinking about applying for artschool and studying graphic design.
The problem is that I am not very good at drawing (in the tradional sense). Does anybody know how good you'r work has to be in order to get approved?
Would appreciate it if somebody who did study graphic design could post the work they handed in to get accepted...
cheers

it doesnt matter if you are a good drawer.graphic design is varied.maybe you will excel in layouting, typography, after effects...

Drawing's not essential, it doesn't matter. So long as you have an eye for colour, composition and typography then you'll do fine... Drawing's just a process you have to go through in order to become a graphic designer. I shouldn't worry...

Honey, it's all about the money. Show up with crap in a can and call it art and you'll get in. While at UArts there were kids who couldn't even read let alone draw. Do I sound bitter?

I'm an instructor at an art school, and I'd say that while illustration is important, it doesn't have to be drawing and painting. We look at all aspects of what you do, and whether or not there is a good foundation, an eye for design and composition and a desire to learn. www.saacollege.com

i have to admit the website for SAA, is shite... but it's being redesigned as we speak.
It's a small 2 year college with a 93% career placement for graduates.

Flick, as a designer, what kind of creds does one need to move into teaching? I have never pursued it due to a lack of a teaching certification, but how is it handled in design schools?
