I have had nothing but bad luck with cars lately.
Came back from LA last night and the car that I left parked here had the registration sticker stolen.
To add insult to injury...
I had a ticket for not having registration on the vehicle.

buddy, could be worse, the car could've been stolen... or the car could've exploded... or you could've been beaten and raped by the ticketing officer... or you could've just stolen someone else's ;)

the ticketing officer stole it and THEN ticketed you.

But, how can it even be illegal to have your car PARKED without registration? (Personally, I take my plates off when I park to avoid parking tickets) And second, don't they have some sort of system to find out whether a car is reigstered, even though you don't have the sticker (or whatever it is) on, before they ticket you?
And third, how the hell did you get to LA then? ;)

wait, why didn't you just drive to la from san deigo?!? and why did you park the car in the lot? and why are we all giving you a hard time??

1) illegal to park a car on the street without proof of registration showing
2) If I take the plates off of the car it will get a ticket for the same reason.
3) meter maids do not have the ability to check to see if the car is registered.
4) I drove my car to LA. The car with all of the shit is our 2nd car. It's my fiance's car.
phew!
Anyways this is just another annoyance in a long list of car related problems lately. I wish I lived back in Chicago where I never owned a car or needed one.

2) Then how would they possibly know what to ticket if there's no identity of the car showing?
4) Well then I guess it's your fiance's problem ;)
j/k

1) you're right it is my fiance's problem. however, all of my problems are my problems and all of her problems are my problems. Comes w/ the package.
2) the ticket goes against the license plate #. eventually once it get's logged in the system it goes against whoever the car is registered to. I don't know about you but our meter maids drive around in these little 1/2 car things. they're not connected to the DMV database.
GOOD NEWS = I will get out of the ticket by showing proof of registration but it's going to cost $15 for a new sticker. It's just annoying.
