Illus CS text bug...

  whilst working in Illustrator sometimes my text boxes just vanish, then when I undo to see if I can get it back, more and more text vanishes randomly on the page!??! This is fucking annoying – I have to restart Illus and hope to hell I have saved recently because I've found that once it starts happening it gets worse and you lose half of the content of your file

  ...this is something that's cost me hours and hours of work time since the CS edition came out. Has anyone else had this problem and know of any quick fixes – or things that cause it that I should avoid?...
