I was working on a project last night when a power surge struck. Just my luck, the hardrive which contains all of my work over 3 years is dead. That's some shit.
Any suggestions on Data recovery would be appreciated. I went to best buy and was told it would cost up to 3grand for the service which was ridiculous.
I need your help fellas, I hope there's an alternative to coughing up 3gs. Thanks in advance.

my car got broken into about three years ago and they stole a book of cd's full of all my work, and it was the only copies i had...so yah that sucked large, always make back ups, or you will learn the hardway.

with some looking around, I had my data recovered once for 900.00 at a tech research facility here in Colorado..........i wish you the best of luck........it is a scary experience , but just be methodical........i would hold out for a better price, or at least as long as you can, since i am sure you need to get back at that data for working purposes...........

when my daughter's iBook drive went, the little shop who replaced it was able to retrieve everything-- maybe you'll get lucky

Hindsite is always 20/20, but even though these can be pricey, well, you know the alternative. Best of luck to you.

What sort of system was the hard drive on? What was the manufacturer of the HD?
