np good luck. You moving out there?
- devaur0
there is a possiblity of moving there.
But Im worried now. AKQA is the only good company I can find!

yeah my girl and I looked at moving to N Carolina a few years ago. Cheap housing prices and such, but I ran into the same problem. If I were you then I would just go get yellow pages and see if there are any good ad agencies there. I had the same problem when looking in Vegas, but know I know there are a few good ad agencies here, they just didn't have a very strong web presence. good luck man.

Thanks man for the tip. I will try to get a hold of a yellow pages.
The list just became extremely depressing.
How long did it take you to find something decent in Vegas?
I would probably end up living in N. Virginia.
Nice work by the way. Like the website.

thanks! Actually work found me. I had decided to just stay in LA for a while when I got an email from a design firm that worked with the Hard Rock Hotel. They asked me if I was interested in the Art Director job here...so I interviewed and got it. I lived here for seven years before I moved to LA...so it just kind of fits. Moving back into my house with the girlfriend this weekend. ;)

Back with the girlfriend. Design is going well. What could be better?
Love is in the air!

ha yeah something like that. I cant complain though. So many boobies here at the hotel, its really hard to concentrate on design or the gf. =)

i didn't like the aura of dc. i lived just north of georgetown. everytime i went out in georgetown it was just a fucking show. it turns out the place my friends and i used to frequent is now the stomping grounds of the bush daughters. the only meaningful conversation you will have with a female is "what senator do you work for" and "how much do you make". of course i was probably in the wrong area. but it is mostly political firms and pr firms. there is a lot of in-house work available and freelance is not too bad. email me if you need anymore help.

There are a number of firms in the DC Metro area. Many are hybrid AD/PR firms (PR is very big here, duh) In no particular order of quality:

http://www.jdgcommunications.com…
http://www.onemediagroup.com/cli…
Full listing without URLS can be found here:

There are also a number of good creative positions found for in-house designers, such as Marriott, Discovery Channel and the like.
If you need any info let me know, as I have lived in N VA, DC and MD for as long as I can remember.
