how old are you guys?
not making fun or anything.
reason being when i bought my first place in 2000, it was an ikea showroom. now i'm about to move into my new home and there isn't a damn thing i want to take with. i was there over the weekend and it seemed like the same stuff. is it because i'm almost 30?!? although i did find some nice little things in thier catalog today.

exactly k0na, their stuff is just plain and simply crap, imo. Go with something else.
http://www.westelm.com etc, etc.

There's nothing like a good cheap coffee table you don't mind replacing after someone has collapsed on it, drunk at a party.

I overheard a guy on the subway having a conversation with what must have been a very old and very hard of hearing grandmother.
And I quote:
"...and went to Ikea to buy furniture.
No, Ikea.
Ikea.
Ikea.
It's a big furniture store, not very expensive.
No, we drove there.
Yah, furniture.
Ikea.
It's really cool stuff.
No by the airport.
the airport."Keep in mind this guy is shouting because of the train noise.
Oh it was so embarrassing. I wanted to burn my ears right off my head if it meant it would bring silence.

funny you all have mentined west elm. that's where most of my new stuff just came from.
i did however find a cool classy white tv stand, a computer desk, 1 decent lamp. BUT, there is where i go for a lot of my candles, vases and shit.

no west elm and no habitat here :(

Kona, if you're looking for high dollar stuff that will last a lifetime, got to Room And Board downtown, just off Michigan Ave.
Great stuff, expensive (ex: most nice couches are $1,000+)
but this is stuff you would have for a long time.

The last thing anyone needs is a bed that breaks when you're tappin' it...
