Why does my flash file work perfectly when testing the movie using the preview (CTRL + Enter)
but as soon as I publish the movie it all goes to bollocks
- ozhanlion0
maybe publish settings?
elaborate "bollocks"
- shutdown0
bollocks = testing area, sound files all play,pause and stop as they should
publish and pplay in browser and they either don't stop when the stop button is clicked or it plays the previous audio file even though i've linked it all up
- Bottlerocket0
cache? or old flash player ? perhaps?
- blindpilot0
sounds to me like it's all got bollocksed somewhere in the publishing of the file.
sort that out, and you're laughing.
glad to help
- shutdown0
what would be bollocking it up on the publish?
- ozhanlion0
doh, how are you calling your sound files, do u set them to export for the first frame and all that shite*
and blow publish it and let us test.
- DutchBoy0
"bollocks = testing area "
i always thought that bollocks is the 'testicle area'
nevermind. carry on.

aye, linkage stuff and export them to first frame:
myMusic = new Sound(myMusicMc);
myMusic.attachSound("origchoice...
myMusicVolume=100;
myMusic.setVolume(myMusicVolume...and then:
on (press) {
play();
//Sound is not playing and has not been paused
if (playing!=true) {
if (paused!=true) {
playing=true;
paused=false;
stopped=false;
myConditionText="Playing";
myMusic.start(0,0);
//
} //closes paused!=true
//
//Sound has been paused
if (paused==true) {
playing=true;
paused=false;
stopped=false
myMusic.start(myMusicPosition,0...
myConditionText="Paused";
_root.myMusic.onSoundComplete = function() {
myMusic.stop();
} //Closes function
} //Closes paused==true
//
//END
}//Closes playing!=true
//
}//Closes on pressi can't make the file public yet but i could email it you if you promise not to loaugh at my coding
- ozhanlion0
seems quite ok to me (thecode)
well I really would like to help, the problem is I don2t have neither headphones nor speakers right now.
ok send maybe we can find a workaround
- shutdown0
the fla is over 5meg. Your inbox ok for that?
i know there must be an easier way to do the code but not being a flash person I have no idea how to do it
- ozhanlion0
ya m8, send along.
- shutdown0
thanks, on it's way
like I said, don't laugh!

I think I might know.
If you are linking sounds (i.e creating sound objects) do not check the 'load in first frame' thingy. Uncheck it and put all the sounds into a scene that is in between your loading scene and your main scene. That might sort you out.
- Seph0
I forgot to mention, obviously you skip the middle scene with the sounds in by going directly to the main scene from the loading scene.
- shutdown0
did you get the file Oz?
- ozhanlion0
yes man and honestly it is a bloody riddle
give it a couple of mins, I am digging it and hope I can survive :)
- ozhanlion0
ok just out of my head, well I think your problem is pretty mixing those sound objects.
in theorically you are creating a sound object and attaching your music chunks to it. also I see that you are creating origScene from the duplicated green one.
so be gentle with the naming there.. the obvious problem is your frame action which calls at green2 scene don't get called.
this one..
//Light_Up-d-3428_hifi.mp3 - freeware from Flashkit
myMusic = new Sound(myMusicMc);
trace(mymusicMC)
myMusic.attachSound("origchoice...
myMusicVolume=100;
myMusic.setVolume(myMusicVolume...
//I couldn't find the order or any piece of code calling those scenes, but def it is not getting a call so you are not attaching your sounds to your object and for a proper attaching I suggest you defining a new sound object btw.
wait lemme chunk a litbit
- Bottlerocket0
come in on this halfway through..does the sound work the first time you export, or do you need to hit crtrl+enter again..as if you were doing a bandwidth test after the initial export?
- MX_OnD0
your problem is very possibly that your FLA is over 5 meg..
that's just mental.
have you got the sounds embedded in the file?
if so that's just mental too.
if you really want to send it to
and I'll try to pick it to bits for ye and get it working,
don't ask me not to laugh though!
- ozhanlion0
OnD prepare for the battle m8 :)
