yeah I am loving it..i mean...it's so different out here compared to back home but you have to take it for what it is. having the incredible scenery sure does help...I really wish we could live up in vail but all the work is down closer to denver/boulder
how about you? how you finding life on teh westside?
- heavyt0
I am really close to moving.
I have a few places in mind. One is boulder, cause i think it is awesome there. But i am also considering Europe or maybe Australia. I have never been, but i think that it would be cool.
I speak a little French and a little Spanish.
Any thoughts?
BTW- I havent had time to relaunch my portfolio. I am working on adding a unch of new stuff and whatnot. thus far it is at http://www.tr1design.com/portfol…thanks,

I'm not sure how it works in Oz...but I know to work in the UK you will need to get a work visa and probably be sponsored to work there. It's a fair bit away - have you thought of maybe travelling around europe first to see if you like it?
Boulder is cool - a little too college town for me but nestled in the rockies the way it is it is quite serene. I commute back and forth from denver but if I had my way I'd be living up in the mountains as far away from anybody else as possible!
Portfolio is looking tight - why don't you email a few companies out here and see what response you get?
why you wanting to move?
- heavyt0
thanks dude,
I have been here for 3 years, and it is getting a little old.
I originally came out to be with my twin brother, but he got a major-label deal , so he hasnt been around much.
My girlfriend grew up here and is interested in experiencing the change of seasons for once.
i took her to Tahoe last year, and sh ewas sooo happy to be in a snowfall.
Any ideas on places that need a standards-based web designer, or an identity designer???TR1

I'd reccomend getting your CV in shape - and then just emailing all the companies, or at least the ones that take your fancy, below:

I should warn you - Boulder housing prices are INSANELY expensice because of the college - much cheaper in Denver or surrounding boulder towns like longmont....

dude move to Melbourne, there's a fair amount of work there and it's not as hard as Sydney nicer people and stuff generally, Brisbane is a nice city as well but not alot of good work here compared to down south, but we have nicer weather more laid back etc also our Football team is the greatest team ever we're going for 4 flags in a row this september!!!

do you think that i would be better off in France?
I can definetly pick up my french skills a bit.

You'll have more chance working in Switzerland sp,ewhere like Geneva. Loads of design companies and they aren't part of the EU, so it's easier to sort out a Visa.

Oooh I'm moving to sydney in a few years, if all goes to plan (my fella's from Sydney originally). Exciting. Heavyt- France is rad- you should travel around a few countries before you make the move though.
Why am I in work so early?
- heavyt0
nice. that would rule.
Switzerland is way cool.

I work in Sydney, I landed here whilst backpacking. It's easy for Brits. Amercians no so much.
Londons a great place to live and work.
- jevad0
Fuckin expensive though
- kezza_20
Yeh but it was all worth it wasn't it?
Most people I've met loved working in London. It is expensive, but the wages are pretty good. Also A CV built on London experience opens a lot of doors I've found.
- jevad0
oh yeah don't get me wrong - london is an awesome city - i miss it so-oo much. i think that
