I would like to start printing my own T-Shirst... anyone got any ideas where I can get some decent materials (London / UK). Wholesale would be good.. screens, ink, t's etc etc... London Graphic Center has them, but prices are high for what you get!!

In the UK - for T's that are a bit different, try Continental Clothing - http://www.continentalclothing.c…

    hope this helps.

are you looking to make professional prints or just making homemade style prints?

to make professional prints, its quite expensive to get started, you need several things, some can be made, some cant.

you'll need, a screen machine (home made, or bought), exposure unit, which can be made with flourecent tubes, search google for plans on how to make one, you should be able to find something, and a dryer, if you're using plastol inks, they MUST be cured to a specific temp (360 i think, or something close) or they wont set. when i investigated my own equipment, the only dryer the company sold was 9000 cdn, but there are cheaper ones, though it will probably be the most expensive item you need. other things you'll need are pantone mixing system, or pre-mixed inks, depending on what your plans are, a flash dryer, to cure inks when printing more than one colour, a wash area, to clean screens after they are used. for professional equipment, you're looking at about 15000 cdn to start, though you can go much cheaper for a small shop, just make sure that you're able to cure the inks, its one of, if not the most important things, because you could make a perfect shirt, and have it run the first time you wash it because the inks arn't dry. the other option is to go with air dry inks, but you'll have to stick to light coloured shirts for best results

function... thanks for the advice. I have started to realise that I needed some additional material. Some good news today, a friend of mine has just been given a pro printing machie!!! So trips to see him I think.. he's also a sales man to some of the UK retail shops, so if things get interesting, you know what will be happening!! A little more research I think, I really want to get some wholesale prices on materials so the t's come out perfect...thanks.
