i just saw that the property owners of the buildings filed a 300 mil suit against the airlines for neglegence.
that doesnt sit well with me.
id like to see those court proceedings rather than the kobe and peterson shite.
should be interesting

You've got to be kidding about that lawsuit...
Why not sue the government? Or gravity?
- prodigalslacker0
because they don't have as much money.
go capitalism!

It's the 3 year time limit.... everyone will start getting sued this week. They're also suing Saudi Arabia.

Today is my Mom's birthday!

Happy Bday to your Mom! Mine just had one too....makes me feel older...I just had one, too....
20 or so years ago the FAA required all the airlines to have secure doors between the pilots and the passengers. The airlines didn't want to spend the few thousand per plane for it, pushed, and won.
I think it's stupid to sue them, but then again I think suing the tabacco industry is wrong, too. So if the tabacco gang has to pay up, then why not the airlines?
Problem, of course, is that airlines are always on the verge of bankruptcy (Delta just kicked out 7000 workers), so something like this could sink the big players, and make all of us pay more.Anyway you look at it, though, I think the developers (Silverstein and his LMDC buddies) have turned this into an atrocity (including screwing Libeskind).
The gov't should just tell him to screw himself, give him some cash (shit, I'd give a few bucks to buy it for public land), and call it a day. Have another competition and start over, taking time to do it right.
Peace.

I think they should sue gravity, as suggested above. I bet gravity has a shitload of money stashed away in all them black holes.
Did that guy that sued the tobacco company get paid? I can't believe that, it's so-oo stupid.
- welded0
I don't think that a tobacco suit and this airlines/gravity suit are comperable. Especially so if the plaintiffs are the government trying to recoup healthcare costs or victims of second-hand smoke. Now suing becones oneself became canerous, well that's another story. Same with fat people and McDonald's. Silly fat people, they're always having wacky adventures.

Libeskind [compromise] project for the WTC is one big turd.
New Yorkers should stop that from being built. An architectural embarrassment.

Go figure that the airlines would file suit for that. Most of the airlines are slowly going under. US Airways are filing tomorrow for bankruptcy protection.
