that's what they wanted all along, I think once you hit your 30's, your priorities change and you want to sell-out, at leas that's what I want to do.

I agree with JazX

if you haven't sold out by 30 you're viewed with suspicion by those who have.

really i think OBEY® is really a personal thing with SF, i mean really, i can only imagine growing up with the name "Shepard Fairey" and getting beaten up by guys that look like andre the giant. so he's really trying to work out some issues publicaly, and why not, if you can make bling on the side. other than that, a little petty vandalism in college hasn't hurt his career either...

no doubt - make that money!
i'm dreading 30, just around the corner (well, down the street at least)

I think it's just another extension of what he started doing. It started out all about the repetitive imagery and how people get into it, and that just transfered into it becoming a brand.
And why shouldn't he get paid, he put in over a decade of work putting up art for a brand that didn't exist.
He deserves what he's got.

shep has every right to make some good dough after 15 years of giant. sure it's a brand now...but he held off on doing the clothes for a long time. now his propaganda campaign has hit the streets in a different way, with people being his walking billboards.
