Depends on what you mean. I personally think that any guitar that defines a new generation of music style can be a classic. Take the first Ibanez Universe. The first mass production 7 string guitar made. It wasn't oftne seen because it was so different but nobody would have thought back then that inthe mid 90's it would become the new sound of metal.
I think a great classic would be an original gibson les paul...I mean the FIRST year they came out. I have a co-worker that has a neighbor who's son passed away and she's got his Les Paul which was one of the first made and she has NO CLUE about that.
My vintage classic would be a gibson symphony harp-guitar made in 1928.
