The word Woot comes from gaming slang -- the original use meant "Wow! Loot" in Dungeons and Dragons play -- and is now a common exclamation of excitement in Net culture.

tho boasting D&D knowledge is no wise thing to do, unless D&D happens to be 'Drunk&Disorderly', in that case it is fine and acceptable.
On a side note, I overheard a guy on his phone the other day, talking to someone about a mutuasl friend who used to play D&D with them, I turned around and this guy was wearing a leather waistcoat, a long mac and sporting a taxi driver mohican, yet totally well spoken.. made me laugh.
