Ever hear that commercial... *singing "phone first, before you go". You could have saved yourself some trouble.

I've been stuck in the past, 9/11 WTC 20 blocks north. And then again on those random times where they are chasing hoods through the tunnels for stealing petty gold chains in Jackson Heights. lol

Two years ago road work was being done on an interstate road just outside Chicago. The 3 lanes were split into 1 and 2. In the 1 lane what was in the middle there was barely enough room for A car, no semis allowed surrounded by cement barriers on either side. Well, a pickup must have been going too slow for some stupid redneck fucker and he tried to pass on the right and got the both of them hung up in the lane. It was blocked up and bumper to bumper stopped for 5 miles back to the toll gate. I was at about mile 3 back.
The first hour goes by and word comes back for everyone to shut off their cars and the explanation of what was going on. The temperature outside was 95+. Humid as hell.
The second hour goes by and people are now out of their cars talking to one another.
4 hours later and the road finally opens. People were throwing footballs, frizbees, whatever they could find to help pass the time. Someone I think even happened to have a bbq in the back of his truck cause it smelled like someone was cooking burgers. The worst day of my life in a long time. I think I sweat out about 10 pounds being in a pair of dresk slacks and a long sleeve dress shirt, which after the second hour I took off. Horrible.
I know your pain.

took the A train to times square, it was really crowded but otherwise there were no
problem-os.

Got on an unusually crowded and wet (5) at Morris Park in the Bronx at 8:30. Took about a half-hour to go one stop at which everyone had to transfer to a more-crowded and wet (2) at East 180th. Moved about an inch an hour until we got to 149th Street and Grand Concourse at which everyone had to again transfer to a (4). Sat on the (4) for a while before they told us that the train was out of service and we had to go to a different train across the platform. Sat there for a while before they sent us back to the original (4). Finally got to Union Square at 11:00.
One of my co-workers took even longer getting from Sunset Park.
