the one with the dot is better
because it can be KLM by the sea or something.
- zzzorzzz0
the mix. take the dot from the left, the y and S from the right. and perhaps straighten e in sea.
et voila!

Oh Dutchboy you've done it! I'm really liking the ones on the left, way to swamped today to give anymore feedback, but I think you've got a winner there. Well done sir :)

In response to my post last night...
I think the ascender/descender adjustments are worth a look. After all, what is command Z for? You can always scrap it. I guess there's just something about the 'by the' placement that doesn't seem all the way there.

no, Stewart. That is the logo i am trying to take down. and the previous posters have been much superior to the boring one you just showed.
In the beginning experts were in charge of defining the campaign every year, the first posters were created by Misha Klein, Anthon Beeke and Anton Corbijn...
then things changed for the worse and the commercial nitwits at the festival thought they could do this. So now it's a local design agency (good friends.. but you know we're still competititors so fuck that..i have to eat as well..) doing it, and it's doing a worse job every year...
anyway, i am derailing here;
i will see (later) if i can work on the ascenders of 'by the'..
for now i take it i get most votes (incl. the first thread) for the left one? the one with the dot??
- cyc22220
left one, for sure.
The only thing you experiement with is the S.
- mr_snuggles0
Yes, the one on the left is tops, yes it could use tweaks, but for presenting it works damn fine!
- DutchBoy0
ok, thx guys!

pretty good, I see some House Industries in there you bugger.
;)

AHHHH... Changing that "F" made all of the difference in the world!!!! Hooray for you. Much better. I likey.
- grayhood0
i like the second one for everything except the S, i like the first S better. lookin' good.

Make it straight. That angle and the curves kills the eye.
- DutchBoy0
thx, steakandliquor.
but no. tried it already. this makes the presentation of the poster and everything else far more dynamic.

didnt read the comments above, but seperate the words more, the the "Y" in by will be more apparant, and then you have a winner.
also remember with how close your words are, it will print like shite at small sizes.

I'd try it half way between the angle it's at, and the straight, original one. this angle looks a bit forced and too quirky.
Have you tried maken the ends of all letters round? like the top of the 'f' that almost connects to the 'l'? because all in all, the logo is nice and curvy and round but then the straight lines that shamfer of the ends of the letters is a bit of a jolt. maybes?
ps bet noone else used the word shamfer today!!! (spelt wrong, yes probably)

Xrtions, have you seen this last version:
http://www.newstoday.com/pv-an/v…
? (there's more room made for 'by the')
josimar.. i will see if i can work on the angle a bit.
i will not use rounded caps though, it's good to mix hard edges with the curves, else it all becomes way too soft.thx.
