circle takes the square is metal / hardcore. their new cd is the most progressive hardcore album i've heard, probably since planes mistaken for stars.
hymie's basement is good eclectosynthpopindie. even some hip hop.
go big casino is jim adkins (of jimmy eat world's) acoustic side band. sounds like acoustic jimmy eat world.
and the desaparecidos aren't new, but if you haven't heard them, you should. conor oberst's (bright eyes) rock band about anti-consumerism. good times all around.

the new K-os record Joyful Rebellion just came out. if you have never heard of K-os you should definately check him out. this is one of the most eclectic albums ive heard in a while. its a mixture of hip-hop, rock, soul, and jazz.
