i've decided to buy a new power supply but i'm not exactly sure how many watts i need. my setup is:
P3 1ghz, 1GB ram, 2 cd-r's, 2 120GB hd's, and a geforce 64mband another thing, my hd's seem to overheat for some reason - could it be related to my powersupply ?

you try a computer forum?

350 to 400watt. Can't go wrong there, and it'll leave you with extra power if you decide to upgrade.
If your HD's are overheating, check your airflow, thats probably why, not the power supply.

you can trust these military guys...

go with a 400W, they aint so expensive anyway :)
and for the hd, buy a fan to place under it. you can get fans that are made for hd's

I would recommand going with a 450 watt and u can also get RAM cooling sticks. But u don't need that makes sure u have a few fans working in your case t okeep the air flow going.

It's the RAM since your using 1GB its good to have more cooling.

Only use those ram cooling things if your going for a massive over clock or just looking for ways to waste your money. Proper air flow is the way to keeping your case cool. Check out some of the computer sites, they'll help you out.
