hey all.
me and my friend are working together trying to pay the rent by doing freelance stuff.
now perhaps we´ve got a shot at an office to go to during the days.
now to my question:
what do you guys think about getting a stationary vs. a laptop for the office ?cheers!

A desktop is faster, cheaper, and more expandable. But it is really handy to have laptop for presentations and for some small works on the go...
IMO, the best compromise is a 15" Laptop with for the portability and an external screen at home for screen space.
And maybe some external drives.
But you could also go half-half;
The one half of the office desktops, the other laptops.

Id suggest getting cheapo laptop and a wizzo desktop - you can get half decent pc laptops for around £400 nowerdays, then get a desktop you can expand as you earn.

we started off with a couple of sturdy Vaio laptops... big arse black onyx ones... and two monitors dontated from The Mill...
great when you haven't got a lot of space to start with too.

I second the bussiness cards, that is the best investment I ever made, its what brings me bussiness..
but it cost me 1/10 of the price of a computer, how can you you have a problem between stationary, or computers, they are not even close money wise..

we´ve done business-cards already :)
trying to spread them around as good as we can.
we´re working on pc´s btw.
