OK, here goes. This typeface design has been kicking around in my head since mid-2001. Here's how it looks at the moment:

I'm not happy with one or two of the characters in there so I'm in the process of altering some of the font's characteristics. Here's a PDF with some of the changes (comparing the old and new characters):

My question is:
Which of the characters do you prefer, first or second?
- stewart0
hm, the first one (round corners) is more characteristic.

I'm with stewart, a sucker for curves ;)

Cheers, was thinking the same (after a couple of hours spent changing them last night) :/
What do you reckon to the 'V'? They've always pissed me off, none seem to work and I don't want to break the mould with a standard shaped 'V'.
- ********0
aye the v's a toughy, maybe like the first one but with a steeper angle? Sort of like the N without the left vertical....

actually. i like them both. both are fitting in a way. why not make one the capital version and the other one the lower case one? that way you can integrate them into one font without going mental which one lookes better or not etc.

Well I could do but I've also got lowercase glyphs to include (it's a unicase font). I'm trying to carry either one style or the other through the whole character set. There's already three weights of a full set and I don't really want to create any more 'alternate' versions.

Keep'em all except the G (looks like a b) and the V (looks like a U). The #2 G and V still works fine with the rest of the letters.

The curves are good. Perhaps curve them on both sides where they join the main stroke .

Thanks. This was the reason I gave up last time - I couldn't make up my mind. Anyone else?

I actually really like this font.
I'd straighten the vertical line in the r in earth.
nice

love the curved examples
the V is alright just reflect it so it doesn't look like a U
- versa0
first...cause it is more true to the intent i think....plus the second starts to look too much like buro destructs BDR.....
very nice work patnoodle......!!!!

the curved V goes well with the other examples: A,H,R
not the traditional V stay true to the modularity of the face

Put it up for sale the way it and I'd buy it in an instant.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess it's really a case of people having different opinions and no one opinion can ever be right. I should just get on with it instead of worrying about one or two little issues.
I can feel it - this is the year I finally finish it! Maybe...
