new album just rocks:-)sorry.. had to express my thoughts for a sec there:-)

jimmy eat shit man...they lost it after clarity!
static prevails was good - clarity was pure genius - bleed american was shite radio-friendly 'pop' - and the songs I have heard from teh new album are jsut as weak

the new stuff's real tight though imo... they have some of the good harmonies that clarity was really good at, but yeah, some pop hooks as per usual.. overall though it's a great disc if it's the final one coming out. it's missing the demo song that i heard last winter from a friend who practices with them... odd too cause it was a really great song.

although clarity will obviously never be topped, i think bleed american was a strong record. think of it this way; if it hadn't been 'the record after clarity', it probably would be more accepted. however, any album that comes out after one of the greatest indie rock albums ever...well, won't measure up.
the new album is killer. it has a good mix of all the albums, and "jen" fortunately got taken off the retail release. look for a deluxe digipak with a bonus cd full of demos!

i think they've gotten better overall, album and concerts, since clarity. Don't get me wrong at all, clarity was a brilliant album, but they seem a lot more self assured. they seem like they've made an album that is exactly what they are as a band. over the years their concerts just absolutely rock and for some reason, they're one of the only bands that i don't mind sharing with the rest of the world.. right from the get go

nah i just keep up with the band, they're one of my favorites since high school. i haven't accessed the demo cd yet, but i am pretty up to date with all leaked albums. not in the biz... yet. i like to design for indie and punk bands tho. i'm not a fan of corporations or big design, so bands like jimmy eat world have always been my target.
the new artwork / photography for the album is a plus, though.
