It looks like many of us have to start thinking about cautiously using pop-up windows in our designs.
WindowsXP Service Pack 2 now comes with a built-in pop-up blocker and generally more and more people are installing them.
Anyone having to de-do or re-think their designs because of this?
discuss :)

Generally if you have auto popups like the p0rn & hack sites it will block it, but I've had no probs withit blocking legitimate linked popups where the user clicks on a link.

popup on demand only.

Not a problem if the default allows popup-on-click. Is that the default?
Safari blocker acts like that, doesn't block popup-on-click, only blocks popups on page open or close.

Although here's a site that has user-initiated popups, but it is meant to open 2 windows in succession.... and the popup blocker on Safari will only allow the first 'click-intiated' window to open, not the second...

Blocking pop-ups that happen automatically is good.
Blocking pop-ups on a users click bad.

I've always thought auto-popups were intrusive, legit or not. Frankly, I think this is a good thing.
