Went into an old psych hospital once (old-whitby psychiatric) Was okay, got some good photgraphs.
Way to many people had been there though and there was tons of broken glass, graffiti etc. Lots of asbestos apparently too

my dad used to bring home asbestos from work. I'd build shit out of it, its like papermache. I distinctively remember seeing the fibers floating in the air like snowflakes in the sun.

For the child that has everything:
Asbestos.
Use it to build things and watch it float around like snowflakes.

it was before they knew about the dangers of it. he brought it home to insulate heating pipes in the basement. its still there (i don't live there). he got it wrapped in duct tape. he's crazy. like insane.

i'd be too scared to do that in london! used to as a teenager, there was a derelict glass factory this strange skater boy took me to, man i totally forgot about him, he was american and a bit odd, i think he'd slept with his mum or something seriously freaky

it's very hard to get good derelict buildings in ireland with the rates of redevelopment etc. but here are a few pics I took of the outside of some weird abandonned factory 2 weeks back. I was on my own and it was in the middle of nowhere. I didn't get more photos because I heard some voices and saw a car parked out the back - there was no reason for people to be there etc.

That guy that was there could have been security. Somtimes they will keep a security guard around.
It was like that at the old psych hospital I visited, every now and then you would see a security guard, kicking punk kids out.

It was more than one guy because I heard people talking and most security firms would be parked out front with marked cars. The place was totally open and in the middle of the countryside so it didn't need to be secure. I think the only reason I was spooked was because I was alone and I came across the place by chance. and didn't know the area etc.

This site was an abandoned private school in canton MI (near Detroit). I went there once in the mid 90's and shot these.
The place is crazy! A couple of acres w/ a ton of shit to look at.

We got into a disused Mental Asylum this weekend, and it was in fact insane, we were there for about 4 hours and didn't even see all of it, the place was HUGE! Didn't get as many pics as I should have, will post them later.. they're at home.
