well, tonight my iPod finally died, or at least I think it did. I have the first iPod that came out, the 5gb with the spinning wheel. Had it almost 3 years now I think... or maybe 2 long ones...
anyways, how do I know if it is really dead? What can I try to resuscitate it? The heimlich isn't working...

With the new iPods, if use it quite alot, the battery will die within two years, now to get this battery replaced by apple, you have to pay $250.
Nice idea huh?

Last year I thought mine had died, too, but it turned out there was a combination of buttons I hit that reset it-- I forget what the combination was-- I found it online

yeah, it's the ipod version of ctrl+alt+delete.
hold down the menu+play buttons for 5-10 sec, see if a fancy graphic pops up...
