is it possible to convert data to sound? i've heard about "soundmodem"...but i dont remember. can you! help me?

huh? you want to take what type of data. There are experimental applications out there that will enable you to take words and pictures and they will convert them to digital sounds. Or do you want to just 'capture' a sound on your computer?
