whats a good book to learn advanced illustrator, I know it roughly but use FreeHand mainly, just feel it would be beneficial to know illy inside out aswell.. thanks

I would just play with it if I were you, again and again and again and you pick it up, like anything. Unless books help you.

yeah I know Jaz, I know it fairly well I just need a quick reference for preparing accurate artwork and know that I'm doing things the best way, kind of a crash course so a book would help.

yeah, i sure learnt it playing with it, i used to need magazines/books with fancy graphics for it, but now i can play with it and find help and stimulus on the internet.

I'm gonna play with it too, I'll probably try to imagine how dutchie learnt by playing with it, hopefully that will inspire me, and failing that, it will be fun just getting to grips it.

yeah, at first it seemed all odd to me, i was actually a bit ashamed seeing myself playing with it, so unexperienced. But one day a friend dropped by and noticed me playing with it, and then i lost my shame and teached him to just play with it. One can in fact get very satisfying results by playing with it. Everyone should!

yeah I often used to have mates around and we would play with it together, just experimenting and seeing what would come out of it, we really had the creative juices flowing and would push each other to try harder things, our motto was 'you get out what you put in, plus more!'

i once knew this girl, she lived opposite. and somehow at those warm late summernights i would just stare out the window from behind the curtains to become very inspired by the view of it all. I was just forced by my deep inner desires to play with it more and more, and in fact let the fruitfull results reach stunning new heights!

you should have shown her, maybe she would have liked to have learnt by playing with it, she may even have had something for you to play with and learn about, you could have played with each others things.

I wish i was as passionate about illustrator as you two. I heard if you play with Illustrator too much then you could go blind..is this true?

yeah, would love to hear that too! i mean it'd be wonderful playing with it all day and getting paid for it as well!

thats what the pope says but what does he know, he's never even used it in a real life scenario, be it pleasure or leisure. If he was willing I'll bet Dutchie would even go over to the Vatican and show him a few tricks, he sure could teach an old dog new tricks!

I'm sure you are right, Dutchie should go help the pope play with it. I mean especially after all the popes priests have taught that same thing to lots of fortunate young boys and girls. It still surprises me that the head cheif (da Pope) still doesnt know how to play with it.
