lol, yah it was tempting,,, however i replied:
hahaha, nah im not pissed off, i find it extremely funny, however it does inflict with my company representation.
i advice you to take the obvious ripping off the site ASAP, the brackets on the side, the clock, the quotes... change the dotted lines to solids, and in the meantime maybe start a full redesign.within the design community this kinda stuff is not appreciated, already topics and posts have been started about it, which will make you look pretty bad.
so my advice to you is never do this again.please see to it that changes are made within the next two days.

So now you guys are talking about me behind my back, for shame :P in my defense the site was never meant to become the huge hit it is now, as usual it all started with a dumb bet and was basically an experiment to see how quickly the site would spread without any advertising... The layout Joost had was a great staring point, I was lazy and out of ideas at the time, you guys know how it is sometimes... and as you can see (http://www.purelymag.com/-/stat... ) the site hasn’t been profitable for me, the membership offer should be considered more as a glorified donation since everything goes straight to paying the hosting fees. I get the press photos from sources I prefer not to disclose since some people might get fired.
P.S.: if anyone would like to contribute some ideas for the new layout please contact me (full access/ monetary rewards in exchange) 

Your defense is so laughable for the simple reason that you seem to think it would be okay to totally rip renascent's design if the site didn't get any traffic or publicity.
Am I reading that correctly?No one cares whether you got 1,000,000 hits a day or 10, ripping someone's design is uncalled for and unacceptable.

Actually if you want to get into the fancy of it, if we "guys" run out of ideas, with any ethics and desire for artistic merit, the last thing we're going to do as a solution is literally copy element for element a design by someone else.
There is a very big difference between taking inspiration from something and totally copying it.

Don’t get all dramatic about it mg33, the site isn’t a exactly a” copy element for element”, it’s just a improved revision of a great layout, we all copy and build on the ideas of others, I do admit that I went overboard a bit that time...

I think i'm going to start selling and operating system called Bindows XP it is inspired by Windows XP. However mine is IMPROVED it comes with a default metrosexual pink background.
