if I'm designing a t shirt in photoshop, what's the best way to set up PS for 4 color designs?

yeah, I'm thinking 4 color process...but Im also debating if that is the best option. I'm trying to keep all things in consideration...cost as well..
are there better options?

convert to cmyk

screenprinted cmyk doesn't always turn out right (depends on the printer), maybe look into heat transfers?

Start by asking the screenprinter how they would like the files prepared. There are a lot of variables and unless they're running this as a process (4 colour) job, photoshop isn't really the best way to do it. I've done this before with photoshop but that was using spot colours and it was a huge pain in the ass.

How Many of these shirts are you planning on making? keep costs in perspective.
Who are you having print them? some places are better than others w/ 4 color work.
