i am looking to get a PDA device for checking email while on the go... any use a blackberry with their mac? or have any other model suggestions?
I want to be able to setup 2 seperate pop accounts on it...

Really you shouldn't need to use it on your apple... Only to sync stuff... but for POP stuff you just use their webserver stuff...
I have a PC, and all I really use t for when plugging into my PC is to charge it up via USB.
Must add that it is quite useful for storing telephone numbers in case my blackberry goes walkabout.

just get a bluetooth sony eriksson phone no?
- JamesEngage0
probably wants it for the push email facility... I'm never going back :)
- rasko40
mine has 'push inbox', what is that anyway heh?

If you can get Sprint.. Get the Treo 600 and get the 15 dollar unlimited web deal thing.. You can then pop your mail anywhere and send mail via it
it also has syncing somehow built in wirelessly to your desktop.

amazon has a deal going if you sign up with sprint you get like 200 bucks rebate

i am currently with at&t... kinda sucks, but it is through my company...
basically, just checking if the syncing and such works well with apples, because on the box it only had pc requirements
yeah, being able to send and receive emails would be huge for me
- JamesEngage0
it means you never have to dial up/request for email... just gets sent to you.

ahh.. interesting, I haven't been able to set up my email properly since I got a server in the US... hmm maybe I'll try again.
- JamesEngage0
pretty sure blackberry are the only ones who do it at the moment... but will license to others in the futoor.
- Donvitoviti0
hello... treo 600 does it
- SLAZ0
JamesEngage, how does it work with large attachments? can you set it up to not receive large attachments on the handheld, only on your computer?
also, if you read an email on the blackberry, does it show it as a "read" email when you log onto your computer?

same questions for the treo 600 donvito...

p.s. that stantonwarriors site is hot
- Donvitoviti0
also there are 3rd party web sites or programs you can download that will do that all for you.... and since you have unlmited web.. i dont think it matters.

You should try to get IMAP accounts instead of POP... much more optimized to using multiple devices, as it is more server-based (rather than the POP download-and-delete model), simply synching to each device depending on your preferences (such as Headers only, dont download attachments etc).

Hey Don, we did the icnos for the treo 600... didn't know it pushed mail though... have you got that hooked up to an enterprise server?
- Donvitoviti0
at work here we have Good Technologies... we have our own server and their stuff that pushes a robust version of that type of stuff.
I am prob going to get the enterprise thing from sprint this year though.
Verizon Has it also but they charge 44 bucks for unlimited data.. PLUS your normal phone plan... wtf is that
