QBN: mute buttons?

Can we make an extra 'mute-option' for the buttons as well? (see also NT jinlge)
it's driving me insane as i play music from my 'puter and it's connected to the speakers.
everytime i click it i hear a loud boom.. aaargh!

i think its a subtle way of making people click "refresh" on the individual board as oppossed to the browser refresh. but i haven't the faintest why. bandwidth?

don't know why they need any sound on them. while we're moaning, those animated ads are driving me insane, please add a pause option to them!

Browser volume would be a nice feature, are there any browsers out there that do this?
And yeah, mute buttons would be a nice feature for NT.
