Hey algorithm! Pretty sweet DVD huh? I almost don't listen to any else because of the great range their music has. From mellow to relentless chaos.
All hail to the mighty Opeth!

Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits has always been a good one. Might not be as difficult as some others, but man it just has that Woo-Woo! as BubRub would say.

The Fucking Champs "IV"
is a whole album is an awesome cheezy riff /solo.
also,
ive been loving the feeback solo noises in Sonic Youth "unmade bed" from the new album.

ERUPTION. that solo brought on a new era in rock more so than any other solo.

proving once again that i only respond to threads that Bio is in (hahah...jez kiddin)...
here's my take on guitar solos.best : comfortably numb.
hands down.he's not yngwie malmsteen, and he's not there to shoot off guitar pyrotechnics...he's not steve vai or whatever..
but..pound for pound and note for note, when he plays it matters.
in a few notes, he can convey the whole emotional meaning of a song..
listen to the rif and solo on 'Sorrow' from momentary lapse of reason...
incredible.that boy has got the chops .
runners up would include:
Kirk Hammet..
Bio is right..the solo at the end of fade to black rocks, and is a great solo....also (imho ) the best of his solos is probably the one for ORION off of the master of puppets album....great instrumental work...great song..

I'm not a fan of the hippy, frat-boy shite, but Dicky Betts solo in BLUE SKY by the Allman Bros. is damn nice to listen to.
Word.
