To OSX Panther.
Currently running 9.2.
Does this mean I'm gonna have to re-install all of my apps? Will I lose anything? Please be advised that I'm a dumbass and that I know nothing.
And I love you guys.
Any wisdom is greatly appreciated.

you should upgraded two years ago. jk.
what I did was to have two seperate partitions: one for OSX and one for OS9 to keep the operating systems seperate.
I reformatted my harddrive to have two partitions and then installed OS9 applications on the appropriately-named OS9 partition.
and YES, you will lose stuff if you don't back up all your files first...

I don't think that is right. It doesn't wipe your hard drive at all. any progs that are OSX compatible should work fine (better) once you upgrade. you use Classic for the others. a very few won't work in Classic and you may need to buy upgrades or restart into OS 9 to use them. (scanner software for me)
However, to be safe I would back everything up!!!! cause its NEVER a BAD IDEA to BACK UP!

you'll be ok. it's always a good idea to back up. you are going to have to copy your fonts to a couple locations to keep both osx and classic consistant.
i faught the jump forever. now i think X rocks. i hope you will too.
