i checked a flight yesterday on delta from dfw to lga for $450 round trip. i checked the EXACT same flight today (less than 24 hours away) and it was sitting at $2100!!!
wtf! is this normal???
i guess this shows how often i fly... tips on getting last-minute low rates?

I remember my girlfriend and i were insanely obsessed with finding cheap flights when we went to London a few years ago. We would stay up till 5AM hitting refresh waiting for fares to change. We did get a round trip LA to London for 475 a person in the middle of summer.

call the airlines and see if they have lower rates, if you're not sure ask them to hold it.
keep checking sometimes people have flights on hold and then they get released.
but dfw to lga is always booked
keep trying them all, expedia orbitz, priceline, travelocity

fyi sidestep.com seaches travelocity, expedia, cheapticekts, et al and returns all results in one window. very cool.

p.s. a cab ride from jfk or newark is cheaper than $2100 and will only take about an hour.

sorted. i found cheapest rate through the airline itself online,
and i got a 4 star hotel from priceline.
