live NYCCali has the quality of life, the beach, the nature, the mountians, all close .. Yuo can get a large place to live, for not THAT much.
NY has the nightlife, the activities, the let's get a drink at 3:30 in the morning. It has the culture, all parts of it - good and bad. It's definitely a cooler,hipper, down to the bone cool instead of the "fake" hollywood cool.

Born in Baltimore, got a job out of school in D.C., moved out to Newport Beach, CA this year for work.
I just visited back east for the first time since I moved here. It was nice to see family/friends, but the weather is so humid and things seemed like they never change there. My move out here has been full of adventure and I feel like I am living life to the fullest (when I'm not working 24/7). Definitely no regrets for having switched coasts. There are lots of things about the east coast that are obviously different. The people, the vibe, the pace, the cities, the culture, the food. Things are different, sometimes for better or worse. But I like to shake things up every now and again.
For the time being I don't see myself heading back east to live. I'm staying in Cali.

Yeah, my first year here in Tampa has been shit, hopefully I don't stick around and make it two. I can't speak for the rest of the South but this place is total shit...but the weather is great 3 months of the year.
I have never been out west, I would love to see it, but at this point I am thinking I gotta be on the East coast.

Yes the beaches are beautiful, especially down in the Sarasota area. I love some aspects of the Gulf Coast, but there isn't enough as a whole to entice me to stay for a long time.
