Morning all, thought I'd see if anyone here can help. I want to have a go a doing this sweet masking effect I saw on http://www.exopolis.com - brilliant website I must add. If you hit ABOUT for example, the masking effect they do that reveals the image on the right. Any ideas how it's done? Much appreciated. Tits & Beans

a simple animation that serves as mask [scaling the drops to 0%]?

Hmm, I thought it might have been some sort of movieClip as a mask, with random instances appearing and scaling up to a massive size. Gonna have a play, anymore ideas?

There are definitely a few layers involved. The mask it self must be a movieclip, because the best way to have several objects masking one thing is to put it in a movieclip. In addition to that there’s a white border around everything, so I’m guessing that there’s another version of the drops with fat outlines under the mask.
I can come with something similar quickly if you like, just to get you started.

That would be great if it doesn't interfere with what you're going - cheer mate!
I've tried my mast as a movieClip, and put several versions of a symbol inside, and it only masks the first instance of the symbol.
Maybe I'm having a McFly moment or something!
Cheers for your help I'll show you how it turns out..

Here you go. The shape of the drops aren’t the same but you get the idea. I only did a few to get you started so let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy.

Torres, thank you my friend, that looks bang on! I suppose I was just complicating the issue with the whole randomising and actionscripting of the thing. I'll keep you posted - Thanks again!
